Lisa Martin
Lisa Whitely Jewelry
I’ve been a student in the Jewelry/Metal Arts program at Santa Fe Community College
(SFCC) since retiring from a career as a Research and Development scientist. I’m a
member of the Santa Fe Jewelers Collective (SFJC), and we are excited to be showing
in the new Willison West Art Space in Santa Fe in addition to the Taos Artist Collective.
SFCC, SFJC, Taos Artist Collective and Willison West support my continuous learning
and development providing welcome challenges in my journey as a jeweler.
I thoroughly enjoy working with metals and stones. I’m inspired by the natural beauty
and history of New Mexico and the Southwest and by the unique qualities of precious
and semi-precious gemstones. My father, Thomas Whiteley, instilled in me an
appreciation of trilobite fossils, so I also enjoy capturing their unique qualities in metal
and including them in my work.
